Sorry, I've been a little under the weather today...just getting around to posting.
Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, (Act 2:46 NIV)
The early church celebrated together. They celebrated the resurrection and the new life they were experiencing. The were sharing in what it really meant to be the people of God.
Today I'm praying that I will learn to be that open, honest, and sincere when we meet together tomorrow morning. That I'll be able to have gratitude in my heart for the opportunity to worship with my family of faith.

Prayer Challenge- Day 5
17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Col 3:17 NIV)
You've probably suspected that we've been meditating through the Colossians passage from Sunday. I hope that has been helpful in your prayer life.
What does it mean to you to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus? What about all the we do? Word? Deed?
Notice the notion of giving thanks again. Sure seems like a lot of gratitude...perhaps there is a key there.

Prayer Challenge- Day 4
16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. (Col 3:16 NIV)
As you meditate on this verse, what word(s) sticks with you? Have you had this kind of experience with other believers?
When you pray, keep gratitude at the center of your thoughts.

Prayer Challenge- Day 3
14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. (Col 3:14-15 NIV)
As you meditate on what it means to "put on love", what images come to mind? Can you imagine what it looks like to "put on love"?
As you pray, ask God to give you the ability to think creatively about ways to love others.

Prayer Challenge- Day 2
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (Col 3:13 NIV)
As you meditate on this verse, give thanks for God's forgiveness. Do you remember what it was like the first time you experienced God's forgiveness?
Ask the Lord to show you someone you need to forgive (trust me, there is someone you haven't forgiven). What is keeping you from forgiving? Pray for that person, and ask God to give you the strength to truly forgive.

Prayer Challenge day 1
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Col 3:12 NIV)
In your prayer time, meditate on this verse. What word sticks out to you the most? How can you clothe yourself with these character traits? Which of these words describes you most? Least?
Pray that God will enable you to live the kind of life to which he has called you.
